Maybe for deer. But does the deer really know your superior .25-06 killed him, or a .243? Dead is dead, the rest of this is details.
From what I can remember, there is not a shot over 300 yards in the entire state of Maryland.

If you are going to shoot 300 rounds in a dog town, you would prefer the 6MM....

If I was taking long shots at dog town, I would want a 6.5 MM Creedmoor.

Perhaps but I can assure you a large pile of dead prairie dogs my 6 mm Remington has taken doesn't know the difference

.257 Roberts just to add another to the mix.

My whole family shoots 7mm-08. Great deer and antelope caliber. My dad had shot dozens of elk with it too. It's all about bullet placement.

No- it was a 300 acre field, I believe. I have a 550 yard shot off my back porch, if the deer would ever cooperate. And I believe the holdover on my .35 would be about 64 feet.

You must be on the coastal plain. Lots of hilly land in the commonwealth.

There's not a hill within 100 miles of this place. Or a rock. Seriously.

I can't stand the law, the government, rules, make moonshine, (tried) to grow my own tobacco, hate spending money on anything, like tracking deer more than shooting deer, and grew up in the hills. Not sure what qualifies, but that's gotta be getting pretty close.

Never mind. I think I'd rather be a regular people with a hill people wallet than knock some teeth out. Happened once, don't want to go through that again...
