I use my duck gun, with the same loads.

Only reasons I use steel 2's are that it's easier to just buy one size shot, and because I hate picking small shot out of meat.

I use light loads on upland. No need to blow em apart. 7/8oz or 1oz of lead 5's are plenty.

Nickel plated lead 5s @1600 fps. One of the best patterning rounds I load.

I use some 6s but I like the 5s. I think they get through the brush just a little better without sacrificing much pellet count.

yeah. Almost all my hunting is for grouse and **** in thick pine and aspen. Close shots... a duck load would destroy em.

While I've popped a grouse with 2 shot (was all I had on me so I took it's head off), I usually use 7 or 8 shot for them. Basically what I have laying around from the trap range. Pheasant I usually use 4 because I have it from duck hunting.
