A few pheasants from the past

Postby Tomkat » Fri Aug 14, 2015 5:56 am

At one time in my life I was a passionate upland hunter....

But after I started duck hunting, it was not as important to me.

That's a few birds.

I miss pheasant hunting. Just me and the dog on our own is how I prefer to do it. I had a great dog as kid and for where we were we killed a lot of pheasants.

My last dog was not as good, but she was coming along and was going to be decent when she injured her knee. The stress of upland hunting was too much and I was trying to avoid surgery so we stopped. Then she tore the ACL, got the surgery, got back to 100% and the other got injured. Rinse and repeat

I miss just me and the dog wandering the countryside. However after spending an insane amount of money on the last dog, I'm taking a long break from being a dog owner.

Brandy is recovering from an ACL tear. Its been a long slow process.

I hope she becomes most of what she used to be. So far its going good.
