The place where I buy from, sells a turners grab bad or whatever they call it for 20 bucks if I remember right. It usually has different sized chunks that are about right for calls of various types, coco, red heart, bocote, osage ect.

sounds good, but, the calls they have pictured there is nothing exceptional about the tightness of the growth rings, real old growth trees, at least the ones sought after for sound quality, are exceptionally tightly grained.
