Where in the hell do you think the innovation for any duck call started. Do you really think, rick dunn came up with the idea of two plastic reeds vibrating together. And the thread title states historic, this is where call making started. How can the old call makers not be the innovators? Charlie Hess developed the short reed goose call, does that make Grounds or Foiles the innovator? No.

I passed up on one not to long ago and bought a Betts instead. The Reelfoot is definitely on the list to get before next season.

You are saying because the duck call was invented back in the mid 1800's, that all of the innovation relies in that time. Can you not agree that duck calls from the last 20 years has expanded thousands of times more than from inception until then? That's where innovation comes in for me, game changers. It's not just in old early 1900's calls.

By innovative calls I meant any call that made a significant impact on future calls or calling styles. Like the olt began the cutdowns.

They yentzen(however you spell it) is another innovative one as well as the the keyhole Olt being innovative in itself when people started modifying them commercially was an inovation in itself.
