Lord knows I'm a hell of a guy, but I doubt they did any more for me than the color combo. And I'm going to be some disappointed if the new one doesn't have that same bore and toneboard - then we'll see if I can get preferential treatment...

Just messing with ya Rick. As far as I know the toneboard never changed, just the barrel length. Something about giving it more control but the damn thing was wonderful as is.

In my not at all humble opinion, it's RNT's most underrated call.

Had a Gaston Straight Barrel I thought a nifty little call, but it was the only one I owned that changed tone appreciably with changes of toneboard orientation. Drove me buggy.

Dare not think what it would remind Assa of...

On another note, I used a rainy afternoon to hide out from camp preparations, change corks, play with tunings and put the calls I'll be using on the lanyard. Three more wakeups...

I find it crazy that Louisiana and Maryland open on the same day. Went to the beach this afternoon and walked some marsh, and there were quite a few geese (which don't open until the 17th) and surprisingly large numbers of black ducks (go figure). Didn't see a single bufflehead or wigeon, which are usually around by now. We'll see how Saturday pans out. As of now, it's supposed to be 70 degrees.

Or birds finally showed up last night. This lady Saturday was the opener and didn't even go out. Let the crazies have the empty sky's.

I haven't tried one of theirs. Id like to see the difference between the "megaphone" design and the non.
