Looks like OLT shut down in 2002 so I would say yours came from the late 90s to that time but I could be wrong.

If anybody asks how you know how old your call is tell them that Red informed you. He's quite the call nerd now.

I'm still using the wooden Cut-Down Commander I bought in 1982  way before Phil Robertson made it to the big leagues. At the time, it was the sweetest sounding call I'd ever heard, and had the right "raspy" sound of a Mallard. Before switching to the "new at the time" double-reed Commander, had always used a modified the Olt D-2. We would modify the insert below the reed on the front end, sanding it down and rounding it until the tone was right. Great sounding call, but the damn single reed would stick at the worst possible moment. My theory has always been to find a call you like, and learn how to blow it.......correctly, and then only use it when necessary to turn ducks. The only other call on my lanyard is a Woody squealer ;)

I've seen pictures of parts his collection. It's very impressive.

And while modest about his abilities, he can use 'em!

And I don't think Olly minds. We mention the other place fairly frequently. Anyone that comes here knows how much better this place is.

The hunting has been pretty good. The boys really got into then the last few days (without me). Hope this week is the best yet!

How's it going down there? Getting that pup on some birds?

My call list of Winglocks has shortened by 8 or so calls. I was also getting a a pretty good collection of CCC calls as well. I've had to sell off many of my shelf sitters, due to my wife's unability to work...as she had a very serious fall.
Anyway...I will recoup them back someday....maybe not the exact same ones... but the numbers I will.
I like to think I know how to use a duck call better then a goose call....but I can still call geese.

Here's the old collection. Two more calls were added, just after this pic was taken...and calls were sold, before I got a chance to take a pic of them all.

I haven't seen cashman is a very long time. Not sure where he is. I go on GHC just for moments at a time...don't look around very much. That site is comparable to this site. Other sites as popular as they are..have suffered IMHO. To much chest pumping, kids think they know more then us old farts ;) and just plain daily squabbles over nothing. I try my best to help guys out, and will continue to do so. From learning how to call, to how to set decoys, guns, chokes, shells and waders...and everything in between. I only give my opinion on my experiences of what I went through....and have observed..
So far...I'm really liking it here..good friendly ribbing and off the wall banter....my kinda fun. Gotta have thick skin on these forums...and it's good to see that here. Thanks guys...and I don't mean to stroke your ego's to much...Hahaha!! I had to get one in...
Rick again IMHO...makes a very good meat call. I have one of four calls not made anymore.
It's on of two comp duck calls he made for two kids, back in 2003 or 2005 or something like that. I wish I could have gotten the matching comp goose call...but I will be happy with the matching call I have.

Season hasn't opened yet, this Thursday is when it is go time. The pup has been on 1 hunt with me so far and we got skunked. He mocked my shooting as he should have.
