The barrel has no effect on the sound the call makes. The lower unit is what separates the pretty ones from the killa kalls. Sometimes you get a pretty one that also sounds good.

I know, I'm saying a little flare at the start of the call would look a little better IMO. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just throwing my .02 out there.

Not necessarily true. A shorter barrel can make the call raspier. As well as the call quicker and more responsive.

Just a tad high pitched and not quite raspy enough.........I would us it paired with a Napa Valley Cab or a Paso Robles Zin.

This call will more than likely come into it's own if it is cellared for two or three seasons.
