sonaprene or cork wedges?

Is there a real difference between the two? any pros or cons about ether one or is it just a matter of personal preference?

sonaprene or cork wedges?

Sanoprene doesn't wear out so you never haver to change it like with cork. Some people say that it makes a call sound flat but the zink NBG I have sounds pretty damn good and its got sanoprene in it.

Sanoprene won't swell like cork and will go flat over time but will never regain it's size like cork will. Therefore once sanoprene goes flat it has to be replaced. I personally don't like sanoprene as I've never gotten a good tight fit with like I can with cork. Cork has to be changed regulary but so does sanoprene. I like cork better, it holds the reed tighter and helps produce better sound imo.

My call has a rubber cork. Its meant to last forever. The way Gary does it is he stretches the rubber, then trims excess. Its supposed to be not possible to put the rubber back without splitting the tone board but I found a way.
