Do you really believe you can call a wood duck?
I gave up trying. They will respond to mallard calls but I think it´s just curiosity.
All the wood ducks I shoot are ones that decoy in the first 30 to 45 minutes of shooting time. (generally)

I think I may have found one. Prairie Game Calls makes a wood duck call with a modified mallard tone board.

I know I can, done it many of many of times. You're probably doing the sound they make when they fly by, in which case you won't call one in.

Don't know an answer to Reb's question, but I've been turning and tolling them for some years with whatever high pitched speck call I'm carrying run like a wood duck call.

That's what usually do, just choke down a speck call and use hand control/placement to get the sounds I want. I've a couple nicer woody calls with the glued in inserts and they will work, they're just not very versatile. I should say, I'm not very versatile with one and prefer the speck over them. I just want a woody call, with a toneboard, for a specific lanyard.
