What model is this

R n T. I found stored away, been many years since I've used it. Curious as to which model it is.

Its an old call made by Buck Gardner from back when him and RNT were working together. Several different models out there but they aren't worth a whole lot, usually $20 tops. Here's mine.

Have you tried popping a fresh cork in it and giving it a toot?

First time I heard of Jim Ronquest, he was a young buck struggling to make a living in the duck business making cold calls peddling inexpensive Buck Gardner era Rich-N-Tones with company logos on them. I didn't buy but we struck up a friendship, and he sent me this prototype of what he called a "Louisiana sound" (which just meant "double reed") call:

No question that call helped put more birds on the strap than any other I've owned. We have "history" that pretty much makes it priceless to me, but only time will tell if the grand kids sorting through my effects will think it worth hanging onto.

We're not tight like Tank and I were:

Kidding about Tank and I being tight or any more so than he must have been with most folks, and don't let me make you think Ronquest and I are close friends. It's still a most pleasant surprise to answer the phone and hear his voice. Just a first rate fellow I'm proud to know.

Still sounds pretty good, the rubber wedge is still in decent shape. Has two different width reeds in it, a product of searching for the best reed combos in other calls. As a single reed it really cranks, can't put too much air through it.

Could be wrong, but I think it's working dimensions are those of the RNT Original.

You're not helping you cause. I know you're humble, but he calls you.

That's awesome!

He calls so many people to produce RNTV, I'm surprised he remembers me.

Been checking and it is an original but that one is poly and cheap. Came in blister packs.
I think this thread got it right. The experts actually were right on this.
