Custom is less letters. You'd think lazy southern ppl would appreciate that.
Are you aware the Arkansas J-frame was invented by an Illinois man? They insist that Arkansas has to be in front.

Rainman lives in Herrin, Illinois and will probably never write the word Louisiana. ...it's just too many letters.

Right, wrong, funny, dumb...who cares?

White Lightning puts ducks on straps.

No you dont get it, ignore the "Arkansas" part and just look at the "J-frame" part.
Not a J-frame:

Phillip Olt patented the j-frame in 1905.
The person who patents an invention is generally given credit for inventing it but that's usually false. For instance barbed wire. It was invented by two men from same town at almost the same time. They both applied for patents but one used the word "twist" in the description and was awarded the patent.

Yup, he twisted a piece of wire with the crank handle of his coffee grinder.

talk about patents, Phil Robertson put another reed in a call and patented it as the first double reed call. He did start the duck hunting video and that is what really made him rich. He said they ran all day everyday and cost nothing to make. He just hit walmart with the calls at the right time. If any of you guys know how to put a sound file on here without having to go to youtube, I would appreciate a tutorial. I would like to put some of mine on here to see what you guys think.

It would be interesting to know just what it was Robertson patented, as there were double reeds before and after his patent date, and I'm pretty sure Yentzens even had riveted double-reeds before his.

Knew him a little around the time of his first hunting video with Warren Coco, and recall him being concerned about breaking even on its expensive professional production - which was, of course, largely what boosted him above most of the call making pack. That and the beard.

I've wondered the same thing. Maybe it was a combination of features? Floating wedge, double reeds with turned up tips?

A few years back I had a discussion with Phil Robertson at Auto Life in Modesto ,ca . I asked him what has made him
so successful in the waterfowling world ? He told me good marketing of Damn good Shooting , the calls they make , make
the same sounds as other good calls but the killing of multiple birds dying in the air , was the trick for making money !

He also said , if he could make you wish you were there , with him , he would be rich one day !

He certainly was right !

That's how the porn industry works too. Always wishing I was there
