Nope.

It wasn't a question. It was a fact.

Hudson's on track.

It's a herding dog whistle I hope will prove better for blackbellied and fulvous whistling ducks than what I'm currently using. A pain to learn to run, but can match their shrill tones and get LOUD, where what I'm using won't do the later.

Of course, mine's the el cheapo model, but if it shows promise I'll probably break down and get a stainless version. Hammer and Hudson, will no doubt have to have dozens of them in brass, titanium, corian, alabaster, New Zealand greenstone, ivory and so forth...

Dangit Rick...in the process of trying to look up this thing you claim is a whistle but is actually for taking caps off bottles. ...I stumbled into urban dictionary for "duck call".
Yeah, that's exactly what it is, an urban duck call. I bet you will master it soon.
You bastard. :)

For the fulvous I use my mouth but it might come in handy on the black bellies

If you can get spot on by mouth, it's gotta make a better show, but I can't. At least not loudly. And being spot-on seems to make more difference with them than other ducks.

'Course I don't know that I can nail the tone on one of these dang whistles yet, either. But I saw some herding video where a handler pegged what I'm wanting, so we'll see...

That duck sound thread is legit. I've got the sight bookmarked and have spent a good amount of the day listening to it.

It's a booger to learn to run the thing consistently, but I'm getting what I think I'm after often enough to be encouraged and anxious to talk to some squealers. The coyote, however, had stuck himself with something that had a little abscess started when I caught it, so he's been out of the field while that healed over and I've lacked the gumption to go look some test birds up without him. Might be he was just trying to dodge listening to my racket, but I expect we'll be out there trying to find a few fallow ground nesters to harass next week.
