$22 to my door. Quick search looks like typically $30-40+, so good price, I think. Do you use yours?

Cool.

I've done a bit more searching and seen them listed as high as $165, but that's from a collector site. Ebay listings are more like $25-$60.

Please remember this is the duck call forum. Not the blind.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Can anyone help me out in identifying the chemical and physical properties of the plastics in this call?

The call does look to be in solid form but its hard to tell from a picture. Have you tried inserting it into any moist warm places to see if there are any irritant chemicals present?
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

At the risk of being ernest here... it's called bakelite.

Mine arrived in the mail today. A few teeth scratches on the mouth end is about all the wear it has. Reed and cork look like new. I washed it with a little soapy water to get some gunk off, and it went from being a matte black to a dark olive green, which was maybe the original color(?). Sounds okay, not that I'm versed enough in calling to be much of a judge. I'll fiddle with the tuning and see how it goes.

sweet man. I'm curious. Other than a cool nice sounding little call, what's your fascination with em?

Not much of a fascination, just saw it on the local craigslist at a good price and had a little slush in the paypal, so I went for it. My interest was peeked mainly because my buddy has a D2 (I think) that he salvaged from the marsh when another buddy we were hunting with got frustrated with it and threw it in the mud. He took it home, cleaned it up, and swapped the guts out with and old one he had with a cracked barrel, and now it sounds great (when he blows it, he's a really good caller,) so he likes to rub it in the other guys face whenever we hunt together.

Black plastic. Next question....

At what frequency does this call run, as opposed to a more modern call?

I'm just trying to get that perfect pitch is all.

Probably the same hard rubber that the old D2's were made out of. The first one I had turned green after cleaning it. A little lemon pledge furniture polish made it look good as new again.

My old OLT sprig and Teal call has a sliding sound-board , can't read the model number as I've used it for several decades !
I can tell you , it's never failed the test of times as its put a lot of birds in danger .

Does anyone know what model this is ?
