Bluewing calling...

Have begun rereading my online log here in preparation for its final installation, a season wrap up of how it went and what I may or may not have learned, and I came across this unanswered question from TDH:

You using something over than the MVP teal setup now?

Kind of late, but I apologize for overlooking it at the time.

The referenced "assembly call" is a two note call that momma teal use to call their broods. And a good example can be found by scrolling roughly 3/4 of the way down this page: http://www.xeno-canto.org/explore?query=blue-winged+teal to the 1:57 long offering from Ian Cruickshank.

I don't try to use it as a breaking call, just kack my buns off for that, but use a continuous assembly call to keep apparently skittish birds in line and coming all the way the the guns once they're headed in our directions. Works for me...

I see. Thought you had changed up calls.
