"like" function

Postby huntfishnv » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:23 pm

On a couple other sites I'm on there's a like function for posts, I enjoy using it and other seem to also, what would you guys think? Of course this is only if Olly could even add it and was ok with it. Just an idea...

It could be liking just a single post. Or, what I like better is each member has a 10 point scale, other members can rate them up or down whenever they want based on what they say/post. This probably doesnt make sense but I'm trying.

Seems he hasn't posted since his breakdown. You may be forever heartbroken.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Olly, if you want to see what I mean I can give you the name of the site and you could log on as me and see what I mean. I don't post on the site much but I like what it offers.

Will this system let people know who is liked and who is disliked? Maybe I will finally get the hint

"Yes but no and it's not like the "facebook" like. Guess I should have made it "rating" other sites call it kharma. You say something another member likes they give you ten out of 10, another member doesnt like what you posted and they give you five. That same member that gives you a 5 likes something you post later and then bumps you up to a ten from the five."

Got it. Kinda gives you a reliability rating. Might not be a bad idea when it comes to serious stuff.

Thats what I was thinking and heres another post I made earlier to clear it up for people who read this later.

Eric Haynes wrote:Is this how the rating system works? Right now, Red is a 9 to me. If tomorrow I feel he is a solid 10, I type 10 and now he is a 10? What do we do with all of the points?

Theres a little clicker under your name. Then under your UCP there would be an overall rating for you then maybe a graph showing how you rate people and how people rate you. The more you accumulate I guess the more of a funny/valued contributor you are. On other sites the top two or three get a prize or something at the end of the year.

Can we give decimal points? I was thinking of putting your "1" more over like .000000001.

Huntfishnv send me the link to that forum you're talking about. I don't need your login info just the site.
