Loading manual, which one?

Need one that describes all the technical tips I have missed as well as load data. I'm about to dive in on a MEC

I have bought everyone I could find. Status of steel and the RSI books have good info in them as well as Lyman's for hull ID.

If there is one I don't have it's because I don't know about it. Good luck with reloading I just started last year and have not patterned this many rounds in my life.

Same books listed by dogwalker, read them and understand before you start loading. IMO, Lymans is good general info, Status of Steel has good info and a few good loads, RSI had my favorite recipes.

Precision Reloading sells the Lightning Steel recipes developed by 43X. These are 2 3/4" loads and had to have good patterns before publishing. I've shot a lot of Lesser geese using the 1700 fps plus loads with B"s. In my 935 they are running ove 1800 fps giving me 90% patterns at 40 yds with the factory Mod choke. I lose killing pattern density after 50 yds. At this velocity this load will penetrate to kill to over 70 yds at 3600 ft elevation where I hunt these birds. I also shoot the RSI loads and some fast Danish loads. Ned S

Ive tried to find a table that shows pellet count average differences between 3 and 2 3/4 loads. Vary much?

Is that for 3" or do the two lengths not differ in pellet count?

Lengths mean nothing, only oz of shot for pellet count. There are a few RSI loads I really like.

You can tell her that if you want to, but she probably won't believe you.

Makes sense. So different lengths just use bigger wads, more powder or a heavier load.

Pretty much, can be lots of different combinations. Follow recipes exactly, unless you want to send loads in to be tested 1st. I shoot a lot of 3" loads with 1oz of shot, akso have a 2 3/4" load with 1 1/8oz of shot. Just have to find out what works best for you.
