Yeah that shouldn't be an issue. I have seen problems where guys will over choke some of the bigger loads like BB's and that will cause patterns to blow out, but that is weird.

I know, right? One bird I did kill with them had no holes in it, just a massively bruised breast. Makes me wonder if most of the shot is staying in the wad and I happened to make a one-in-a-million lucky shot to hit him with what was essentially an unrifled slug.

Again, I need to pattern these and see what's up before I jump to definitive conclusions.

I shoot Hevi-Metal 3 inch #2 at everything, geese and ducks. If I'm going on a diver hunt I will switch to #3. Hevi-Metal patterns well out of my gun but I did switch to a HeviShot mid-range to get the best results.
