First press we bought was the 20 size master, if I knew then what I did now I would have looked for an old used versa mec or 600 jr, the size master gives you the primer tray and the collet resizer but for loading steel the primer tray is a hinderance more than anything. And you can but the resizer separately.

The 12 steel master, it's a size master painted black ;)

It does have a little bit wider shot drop column to accommodate steel shot but I have never been able to drop reliable measurements. Hand weigh everything. Again, a 600jr or old versa mec is just as effective, unless your loading 3.5

One tip adapted from Ned s was plugging the shot drop column and adjusting it up for applying was pressure after the shot is in the wad, really helps get crimps right when dealing with 2 2/4" fast loads. The "plug" I used is the top of a seam grip glue tube, I use seam grip to seal my crimps

The versa mec, it's basically a 600jr, I couldn't tell you the differences as I don't own a 600 but as far as I can tell they are very similar. A great press and dies and parts are still available, on eBay I know for sure, have not checked with the factory. Mine is dialed in for jr's 1560fps 16 gauge loads and is very impressive, the final station is more metal than plastic like the new ones and does a great job

I have a turret cap to an old Daisy air gun scope plugging up my sizemaster. Works great. Really want to throw some round stock in the lathe at work so I don't have to move as much stuff around going from lead to steel. Make a solid "compression ram"

Shit. Had I known that I wouldn't of even hesitated with the pw. If it makes powder drops too I'm stomping some ass!
