Hulls

Hulls

Postby Flightstopper » Fri Sep 13, 2013 10:22 pm

I know some say load Rio same as cheddite but wanted to verify again. Weighed out the volume of salt in the hull and was within 3gns over three different tries. To the eye they held the same amount of salt. The basewads look similar but can see a slight difference. How much of a difference in volume between hulls in unacceptable? I played it pretty safe last year and didn't play around much.

I would prob load them the same, depending on wad and powder of course. Not sure about the difference in primers if they are pre primed though.

Check out BPIs load of the week and the archived data, they use Rio a lot.

No primers in these, they are picked up from the local clays range.

What the heck, just load a few of them up the way you think they should be and test them in a buddys shotgun.

There are plenty if rio loads I'm lighting steel, compareing that data might shed some light, I have cut tem both on the bandsaw and the rios are a little taller in the base than the cheddite, that said I have swapped cheddite, filching and rios around in recipes, I have a Jgun though

A Jgun with an 1100 is key component to rounding out any reloading arsenal

starting out you probably want a few on hand but when you get to Jehler's level one will suffice.

Sweet! Now I just gotta get some reloading supplies. I'm going to need you to sign a waiver first. It will state something along the lines of, Dustin can't be sued for damages or loss of life. As well as, you new that it was prolly lead not steal shot while shooting at ducks!
