Selling it at a buck per pound doesn't sound very profitable to me.

R. Chapman wrote:Yep, picked up shot from te trap and skeet fields. Most professionals will sift it thoroughly to remove any rocks an such, the re-drop it. Plus use magnets to get all the steel out. It's a love-hate kind of deal. I like the price of it for a 25 pound bag, which only costs me $25.

They calculate/know/measure the distances of how far 7.5s/8s with travel. Then go in with so heavy equipment and take off the top soil.

They should throw out some big ass tarps before the shoots. Then just fold em so all the shit is in the middle and scoop it up. Seems a lot easier than mining for it.

It don't make a difference to me. I'll pay $25 for 25 pounds of reclaimed instead of $42 for 25 of new shot for praactice/screwing around.

R. Chapman wrote:Well they're getting about $2,500 for 3,000 pounds. On a trap field that has only 4 traps, and is used regularly, they'll get about 3,000-5,000 pounds. Now if you were to reclaim lead at say the world recreation shooting g complex where there is 120 traps, you're looking at some serious money.

assateague wrote:If they put Todd Hoffman in charge of the operation, they'd get enough for a half a box of shells, and those shells would cost $46,033.
