I normally load five of each in .3 (one ends up at .4) grain increments, the first two being used as foulers. Most times I'll find that the sweet spots are found in a very narrow margin between whole grain charge weights.

Never tried one. Sure wished I had one when testing shotgun slugs though.

I've been known to use a lead sled and a remote firing device when testing loads.

Not so much that, as removing all the human error from the equation.

56.5 did the best. Now I'm going to try in 2.5 gr. increments like this.

56

56.25

56.5

One of these is most likely to produce the best powder charge.

Looks like you got a real shooter there.

If you want any easy way to make targets on the cheap, get yourself one of those jumbo bingo card markers and a stack of regular ol' printer paper. You can blot as many spots as you want in a matter of seconds and they make nice round spots. They last a long time too.

You should draw your circles closer to the holes...

Thanks for the advice. I wish I had a hair bit more of magnification so I don't have to make the circles as big as they are.

When you're shooting for group size, if your cross hairs cover up more area than you like and it's making you want to go to a bigger dot just aim low left or low right so the dot is nestled in the corner of where the cross hairs intersect. Make the bottom and one side of the bull just kiss the wires. I use a similar technique when shooting the iron sighted military bolt action match. For me, the best way to get the most precise and repeatable sight picture is to put the blade along the left side of the target and put the corner of the blade at 9 o clock on the black.
