Nice pics, but they're not contest worthy.

very cool. I've never seen a hybrid except maybe this wigeon and I don't know if it is one. There is a lot of green around the eye.

it's not a hybrid, it's a eurasian wigeon

No. It was just kept in really good shape and this is only a few minutes after my buddy shot it. His eye sure looks like he is alive but here is the first picture with my cell phone.

I know it is a eurasian. I've never seen any besides this one. Do they all have the green around the eye?

Right now, there is alot of debate on the widgeon purity issue.
The number of so called Eurasian widgeon is increasing every season. Just 10 seasons ago they were almost nonexistent except up North in Washington and, of course, Alaska.
I believe most are hybrids of American and Eurasian Widgeon and, there will be more each year.IMO
I like those wigeonXmallards.
While hunting in Idaho a couple seasons ago with my son, we saw a couple pintallard. 2 of them were Drakes and looked awesome. We put in some time trying to figure them out but, it never worked out for a shot. Wish we would have had a good camera.
