Camera recommendations

Postby Fowlplay » Tue Nov 26, 2013 2:41 pm

Looking for recommendations for a good camera and lens set up. I like to take pictures of my mutt retrieving as well as various stuff when the hunting gets slow. I have a dslr camera now that works alright but it belongs to my ex, so it's time for me to get my own. If anyone has any experience with a good set up let me know.
Thanks

Picked up a canon rebel t3i last year. Loving it. There's a t4i out now that's a bit smaller framed. Got the 300mm lens with it too. It's solid. Won't be sending any pictures to natgeo but it keeps me entertained.

I've got a Canon t3i as well, it's a good place to start.

In retrospect, I'd have bought a Nikon D90 a more money, but I like it better than the Canon.

I'm really digging the retro look of this frame.

Gimp is a free open source version of photoshop and it does everything PS does.

Sounds like you've already got a pretty good one... the free kind.

If you don't want to spend a fortune check this out. A smaller version of a full size camera, and takes awesome 1080 HD video. Has built in zoom, lense slides out auto. Here is what the zoom can do.

Here is the camera. Just a option to think about.

The case for my similar bridge camera, a Panasonic FZ150, is dusty, instead of dirty because it's still too big to be handy enough for a lot of field use. My dirty, "been there, done that" case is the belt holster for a little "travel zoom" that is virtually always with me afield, unnoticed until needed. I find a lot of truth in the old adage that "The best camera is the one that's there when you want it."

I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC/Fz70 in November. Has a 60X zoom. I am still learning the ins and outs but wherever I go it goes. I will put a couple of pics up from the camera tomorrow. For $300 I am quite happy with it

Here are 3 of the pics with the Panasonic. Bright sun and windy, birds moving the whole time. I have a real long way to go but I try to take pics every day
