You can see the duck dog's hind leg in the background. She hated it, and was even more pissed when we ddn't kill any ducks the entire trip.

Doesn't A Zone open in August? I thought the rule was that it opens the first weekend in August following seven continuous days of 100* weather.

Lol. Yes, bow season ends tomorrow in A zone, and rifle opens the 9th. That buck was killed in X3b though.

Went to check out my bean field Friday. It's looking good. Planted some jap millet inside my pond in the bean field. Just got it dry enough to plant. Hopefully the millet will make

Anyone ever planted jap millet. Wondering about putting water on it as it comes up. I can pump water in my pond and control the level. The bag said it likes water as long as it's not submerged. Didn't know if there was any point in it or not

I helped a buddy plant some this year for the first time and so far its growing well, already waist high in spots. What i read about it, is it needs to be 6-8" high before holding water on it. It also needs to keep the tops out of the water. We disc'd, seeded, and then rolled it. Better get on it, what i read says it needs 60-90 days for maturity.

Yea ours said 45-60 days. I wanted it in the ground about 2-3 weeks ago but I couldn't catch it dry enough. Are you all putting water on it or letting it go dry

We basically grew it dry but the soil was holding a good amount of moisture. He's just about ready to flood it up.

Ok. That's what I want to do. Like to keep it dry and not have to pump the pond but once in late oct. I closed my drain pipe valve so it will start holding rain water
