It's a profound thing Red.

It was a GREAT trip.
Great scenery.
Extreme weather.
Beautiful birds.
Excellent people.

I was tuned up for weeks leading up to that trip, and it exceeded my wildest expectations.

Yet, when I look at the pictures-it makes me a little sad.
I'll never have another "first trip to Alaska" ( if that makes any sense)

And even though I was only there for a week....I miss it.

If I didn't have a wife and children at home, I'd have never come back.

I'm at work and don't have too much picture access. So, here are some until I can look up older ones.
The first is my son in 2006 with his Eurasian baldpate. We were diver hunting, can you tell?

Image

This one is a Thanksgiving Bull Can. Probably 2006 or 2007.

Image

My older dog on his second ever hunt. It was a 3man limit of greenheads off of iced water but, I took the picture when we got home so just my son's and my limit.(2005, I think)

Image

The first duck retrieve for my long time hunting friend Todd's most recent dog.(Todd is thereddog on DHC)

Another for Assa.......

sorry for the quality, but this is a pic of my dad (right), his uncle (center), and my grandpa (left), in the late 60's. back when there were pheasants to hunt in northern IL. the ole' man is one hell of a shot, but hasn't been hunting in about 40 years. i plan to change that this year, only, not pheasant but waterfowl. i figure that he taught me to shoot, i will reteach him to hunt!
