I Told You

Postby assateague » Thu May 02, 2013 11:48 am

The disregard of game laws around here is deeply ingrained. Its not just me  Note this caption from the front page of our regional newspaper, regarding a waterfowl museum going to auction.

Assa, Have you ever read "Outlaw Gunner?" If not, I think you would enjoy it. Whole book talks about the outlaw gunning days along the East Coast, especially from Maryland to N.C. It Explains all the ways the old folks used to hunt during the market days.

Yup good book. Along with Currituck memories and adventures by Travis Morris, untold stories of old Currituck duck clubs by Travis Morris, Currituck: ducks, politics, and outlaw gunners by Travis Morris, and Duck hunting on Currituck sound tales from a native gunner by Travis Morris. All good reads.

Some of the illegal hunting equipment that those old timers came up with is pure genius.

That kid won't understand half of that.

Also side bar, a few years ago I used to drunkenly co-host a college radio show and when Tucker Max was big we interviewed him on the air.

Before the interview he was a cool guy but during the interview he did his douche bag act. He's a fake and all his stories are just stories. Funny though.

I love listening to him tell the story of the coon hunting monkey. I've heard it 100 times, and will still laugh all over again the next time I hear it. The mark of a true storyteller.
