From, "under the dome"
Two young men watched airplane crash into the dome. They almost were crushed by the wreckage.
One said, "do you think the government built this?"
The other replied, "nope".
His buddy says, "why noy?"
The guy answers," BECAUSE IT WORKS".
True, so true.
i made jr listen to 1776 and a few other books on the way to lousiana, good for themwaterfowlman wrote:That is a great idea AK. The more of us that pass on our country's REAL history to our children, the better!
I have given each of my children a small library of books that document every war our country has ever been involved in from the revolutionary war to the war in Iraq and asked them to pass them on to my grandchildren. Don't rely on our schools to do that any more.
i enjoy non fictions as much or more than novels, especially from the 17-1800's, can't make that kinda shit upassateague wrote:1776 was an excellent, excellent book.

Have the women and children learn gun safety and shoot, too.

They already do. My wife and oldest also hunt. That's why I don't worry about the kids playing with guns- because I MAKE them "play" with guns at least twice a month, whether they want to or not. It'll be interesting when this AR is done, since they all think I'm building some sort of "machine gun" that will kick like a mule. I'm gonna have a hard time convincing them to shoot it, but once they do, it'll probably be all they want to shoot. I'll have to do what my drill sergeant did in basic- hold the stock on my nuts and pull the trigger a couple times, to show it doesn't kick. Layniebug is still limited to the .22, though- no pistols yet, since her hands aren't big enough.

I guess technically Layniebug hunts, too.
