Damn I thought this was going to be about the people who's cards didn't work that were outraged. That's fucking ridiculous. Somebody has to pick up that bill but they undoubtedly didn't give a shit about that. Fucking leeches.

Soooo... the story made it sound like it was an internal walmart issue, so who foots the bill on this?

I don't know, this makes me think it could be Wal-Mart's problem:
" Lynd explained the cards weren't showing limits and they called corporate Wal-Mart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. "

I could be wrong though.

Stores don't have any control over the credit cards and that's all EBT cards are.

I think they're debit cards but I agree. They couldn't just turn them away because their cards didn't show a balance without having a lawsuit on their hands. The gov will no doubt try and throw this back on Wal-Mart but I don't see how they did anything wrong given the circumstances.

And go.....

So why was it isolated to the one store?

Maybe it was just the "frenzy" only happened in the one and that's what made the news.

I'm not arguing for it or saying the customers were in the right, just curious who's to blame.

It was the whole system. That one store just got hit hard. It happened to a lot of stores around the US, and not just Wal Mart

Ya, thanks for assuming I'm stupid Eric. Maybe on tomorrows lesson you'll explain to me where babies come from.

My point was that the news article made a point to say that Wal-Mart said to allow it, I was curious if it was a glitch in Wal-Mart's card system or the govts side.

It was a glitch and it couldn't have possibly been the governments fault as you well know. So, the leaches that are on the program took full advantage of the error. Now if it had been the other way around, you would still hear the people screaming and probably be reading about burned out Walmarts. Fuck those no expectations, no ambition leaches.

I'm pretty sure the EBT cards print out your balance, or show the balance when you buy something. I know they do here.
