...plan. Got a line on where a good amount of ducks are hanging out in this grassy area in the middle of the slough. Only access is by boat. Hope it pans out

Tide's at 3.5 feet and rising. But it's still somewhat foggy. Doesn't bode well for sculling

Well it was slim pickens today. Set the boat in the slough and headed west. After about 300 yards I spotted three sprig, one drake and two hens, playing in the grass on a bend. Hoping I could push em just round the bend then close the distance fast. Was working til two of em got up and took off. But I did push the third one round the bend and sculled with 20 yards of her quickly where I dumped her.

Went about another 1/4 mile and bumped into a hen scoter. With no other birds around I thought what the hell, I could use the practice anyway. She dove a few time giving me the chance to close the distance quick. She popped up 10-15 yards from me. Boom!

On way back to where I launched the boat, I kicked up two sprig in the grass. I think it was the two from earlier. I wasn't ready and didn't even shoulder the gun. Oh well.
