Happy Hanukkah

Postby vincentpa » Wed Dec 04, 2013 9:07 pm

You can tell that I live in a neighborhood with the fifth highest concentration of Jews outside of Israel.

We ate Thanksgiving dinner at my neighbor's house. It was the only time they can remember Hanukah was on the same day as Thanksgiving and won't be again for another 6,700 years. They lit the menorah that escaped Europe before the war, went to China and finally to the US.

Sorry, can't upload images. Why is it turned off?

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

I'd be lying if I said that I fully understood what Hannukah is about. Maybe I'll google it someday.

Amen brother, Amen.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

Jews around here ride around with menorahs strapped to the roofs of their cars. I will try to get a picture if one.

The holiday itself is A minor holiday. I forget the meaning. It's nothing special. It just happens to fall around christmastime.
