This is pretty much spot on about California and Texas.

I hear what you are saying but keep in mind that the bay area and Sacramento are in Northern California and the fucked up laws apply to the whole state.

Took a friend from here to hunt during our split and he remarked that those guys in California are just like us (Texans) which was true except there are a lot more people voting for Democrats than there are people in the Sacramento Valley voting Republican.

Texas is going to be the next California, the border towns will be just like southern California and Chicago and control the legislation for the entire state.

This is the same deal for NYC and the rest of the state.

And Olly is right. Its happening nationwide.

And here as well. The Baltimore-DC metroplex controls the state, with their welfare-sucking fuckleeches. The western part of the state is hillbillies in the mountains, and down here across the Bay are chicken farms and hunting. But yet those dickheads run my life with their rain taxes and whatnot.

The significance of 2004 vs 2008 is the fact that Katrina occurred in 2005, All the rats left the sinking ship, free food and walmart shopping cards and spread out. Texas was one of the biggest recipients of this, yet another, government backed program of redistribution but, of useless leeches in this case.

Also, that a Texan was on the ballot in 2004, and not 2008, may have had something to do with it.

You guys are missing the point where it's the border towns that are changing because they know which hand feeds them.

I agree with your premise 100%. But I happen to believe that having a Texan in the race in 2004 made the results displayed in your chart different than it would have been without one. Not sure where you found that one, but maybe post one up from 2008 and 2012. I'd be curious to see the difference there.

Here's one that says Obama/democrat support in Texas dropped from 44.1% in 2008 to 42% in 2012. Although I can't find a graphic representation of county returns, yet.

just checked Idaho and surprisingly the area around Boise still hates Obamy  only two counties supported him.

Montana is starting to look similar to Colorado in politics, I don't like that.

Here's 2008

And here's 2012

While it may be happening as you say in Texas, I'd say that having W in the race skewed the results (as far as for comparative purposes) in 2004. Actually, it looks as if the dems lost a few counties ion 2012 over 2008.

This is a fact. You can already see the path we are heading down with Austin. Once Texas turns blue I don't think I want to live on this planet any more.

It is a shit hole of its own, mini Mexico. Downtown Austin is a shit hole of a waste of a city. They can all go piss up a rope. It is a very cool city for what it started as and the buildings left behind. Once you get minutes outside of town those people dissipate very quickly and is tolerable but by no means great.
