Since when did the merc drag motors use carbs, a fishing motor mid and a nose coned gearcase. Or is this your version of a drag motor. Nice NOS job though. Raced a 2002XR myself.
Got to love the mud.

outboard man i see you know a little but i know some my self and hi po merk,s ar what we do mostly. allmost all 2.4 and 2.5s came in both carb and fi depended on what class u ran in .that block is a 280hp fi ported to the max, pistons port matched .intake side ported,1 1/4 intake spacer and carb mounting all matched .it,s sitting on a ported and dry stacked plate and running a bobs tuner.and that is a single ram offshore mid not a bass it runs off a hi-output pump mounted in the boat .the lower is a bobs low water pic up as the motor i s on a 14 jack plate and runs 2 5/8 over the pad . 32 hoss triton over hub prop .i own 2 15 inch mid 280,fi s and a burcato svs fi motor all run sportmaster lowers .as soon as i git the allison cleaned up mom wants her,s done ( oh joy!!! ) that shoot,s a weeked in the but ;)

Good Lord, I thought you were in the midwest for some reason. I was chuckling thinking about what that would look like out on the local lake, before I saw the stickers.
