War or no war the USCG always has a mission.

Any prior service guys with less than 6 years service go talk to a CG recruiter if you want to continue your military career and your branch is separating you.

CG doesn't take anyone with over 6?

Not for active duty. High tenure is the reason why.

But if i have 10 years of AD Navy and want to go CG, id have the same tenure, would i not?

No because you'd come into the CG as am E3 with 10 years and youd be expected to be an E7 by 18.

So an e-7 in the Navy would get knocked down to E-3?

Theoretically yes if you could make E7 in less than 6 years yes.

We are also the only branch taking prior service at the time I think.

Nope. Air Force is taking prior service, yet removing 25k....

My best friend joined the Cg the same time as i joined the AF. He was an E6 inn 6 years and a 7 in 9 years. Told me he never had to test until 7

Sometimes they wave the test if the rate is critical. Still have to do pracs and be recommended.

I JUST talked to an air force recruiter this morning. Said they were suspending prior service application during these cuts.

Could be. I know they took quite a few in the begining of this fiscal year. May have suspended it since then.
