Remember kids, don't play with fire

Postby 3geese4me » Wed Feb 26, 2014 8:27 am

So I had an eventful evening yesterday. One of our cooling pumps for a pretty important piece of equipment caught on fire. Yours truly responded to the fire and quickly put it out. In the mean time I inhaled enough toxic carbonyl fluoride gas fumes to temporarily cause some minor speech problems. To say to was slurring my speech was an understatement. I was not even comprehendable I was told. I wasnt really worried about the speech problems. The stomach, chest and back pains from the smoke is what really did me in. I was in such pain I thought I was pregnant. So, the doctor thought it was a good idea that I stay the night in the hospital for observation. So, if you are going to fight a fire like me. Make sure you dont breathe in any fumes.

One night after I'd worked a long, hot, day I was awakened by a woman screaming her head off that smoke was coming out of their trailer and it was on fire.

It was.

I ran out in my underwear and spotted her husband trying to squirt water into a tiny hole of the trailer skirting.
I yelled STAND back and went to work.

I tore off the skirting and you could actually SEE the fire running horizontally down the "chase" for lack of a better word.
The fire had traveled from the bathroom about 30-40 feet to the kitchen. It was following the water pipe "soffit".

After the skirt was off we put the fire out with a water hose but the kittens back in the kids bedroom didn't make it.

Yeah, I put out a fire wearing nothing but my tighty whiteys. SAVED my neighbors home, No doubt in my mind.

You actually live in a trailer park? When you get up in the morning, do you walk outside in your skivvies scratching your junk while yawning?

Nope. But know that the USAF's ICBM force still retained it's leg of the nuclear triage.
