How much is a conversion kit? I'm thinking you can pick up a complete .22 upper for about $300, and then get a mag for $15 or so. Maybe that's what you're talking about already, though. Here's one for $276 that comes with 2 magazines as well.

With that and the $50 lower, you'd have what I would imagine to be a pretty decent .22 for around $360 or so.

My buddy had the conversation kit and it seemed to work well. Never had any jams or miss fires with it.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

When I was shopping for my upper I saw a package deal with a .223 complete upper as well as a .22 together for around 600 bucks.

I had most of the parts for upper in 5.56 I just wanted a .22 to start her out on .this way the rifle she learns on is the one she keeps shooting .with so much out for the ar platform you can set up for all most anything .as she grows ill set a alloy lower up and she can use the poly as just a .22 .I have one in 300 blackout that's a pig buster .hope to try it out on deer next season
