I've never done max weight so I don't know how accurate that would be. My deadlift and squats are identical for workouts, but we are talking 12/10/8/8/6 rep sets, ending at 315. I've been stuck there for a month now due to running.

Deadlift is usually a little more than squat. I don't do 1 rep max either, but I do 3 rep maxr. For 3 rep max, my recent was 335 squat, 365 deadlift, if that gives alittle insight.

Nice!

Yeah but my bench is shit at 155. Hell, I overhead press more than my bench.

You need to get more strength in the shoulders.

My max deadlift is about 3 pallets of shingles onto the roof. My max clean is about 140 bales of hay stacked in the barn. My max squat is about 1 1/2 miles through the woods dragging a 180 pound deer. My max bench press is about 4 microlam garage headers, or 3 paralam headers, up a stepladder.

I've never seriously lifted a weight in my life. Working out seems like the biggest possible waste of time there is to me.

I honestly would not do it, if I didn't play football. If you don't do a sport there is honestly no point in it.

About as gay as it gets right there! I draw the line at having a spotter for squats.

You probably never seen someone pass out at the squat rack either. We used to use a spotter in the back and one on each end of the bar. Years ago, while powerlifting, I watched a buddy of mine squat down and as he broke plane and started back up, he completely collapsed. Luckily the end spotters were paying attention and grabbed the weight while the back spotter caught the lifter. When the guy came to, one of his eyes was completely red from blood vessels busting during his attempt. This reinforced why the coach would crawl our ass if we weren't paying attention as spotters.

Side spotters are good. Back..not so much.

I do it and don't play sports. Staying fit is hardly a waste of time. Wait until you hit 30 and that metabolism disappears

Weighlifter athletes do NOT impress me (and Assa).
One summer I was assigned this huge guy as my partner at work.
He was a linebacker at the University of Illinois. (Linebacker and running back U.)
The guy weighed 275 and was cut but couldn't do a damned thing at work because he might get hurt. I had to carry him and damnit, I only weigh 150ish. After six weeks I had enough and asked to get another stooge.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

Sounds like a college football player working towards a career that pays millions, not trying to get hurt doing some shitty job for even shittier money.

He was third string and never played a minute. Doing his work kinda sucked. The pos couldn't bend over to pick up a piece of vinyl siding...yet he got paid for me doing it.
Yeah, he was special.
I recall praying he'd get a hernia when he left two hours early every day to go work out.
I'm pretty sure it worked.

What's up with you and TK praying for bad things to happen to people, even if they are trying to better themselves?
