Had a decent opening morning with a friend cleaned up the woodies and smacked a couple greenwings... too warm yet but we'll have woodies for a while

Went out Sunday morning and the fog stifled the morning hunt but was able to pull in a woodie and drake mallard

Had to whittle the ends down to make her more aerodynamic that way the ducks can't hear her coming...

Got back out finally to the wood duck slough ... Overcast....54 degrees...shot my limit of wood ducks ( middle one is going on the wall) in 20 mins... saw 25-30 ducks early...rain started and not enough northern birds around to sit and get too wet... Stayed for another 1.5 hours saw only 5 woodies... heading back out tonight... different spot

Went out on Green Bay ... Very little bird activity... Took out the boat with two friends... Cooked a good breakfast in the boat, pancakes and porkies... Shot one drake wood duck... The boys missed a few others... Not many opportunities.... The wind kicked into high gear 20+ giving us 4-5 footers on the ride to the boat launch ... Got a little hairy but we stayed dry...

Since the bay was disappointing I headed back to the wood duck slough... I'm trying not to over hunt it ... But it keeps producing! Smacked anoth quick limit of woodies tonight... 75 degrees... No wind... Partly cloudy... Only saw wood ducks... Prolly about 25 of them... 3 of them didn't make it.

Added a Minn Kota Engine Mount trolling motor to be able to buzz around silently...

Added some custom shelves including a custom mount for a large propane tank to run the stove and big buddy heater as it gets colder...

Decoy shelves with bungees currently set up for marsh/dabbler hunting, but will load up with divers and long lines come November...

I added some LED lights and LED rope lights to the inside and mounted a rocker switch to the counsel where i also mounted my dial for the EM trolling motor...

Then just a pic of my homemade long line anchors they are from some sort of tractor implement... I picked them up for $8 bucks a piece a couple U bolts and wa la ... 8 1/2 lb awesome long line anchors

Nothing but Woodies around I got my limit while my dad melted his barrel and apparently owns stock in Federal and downed one....

Took the boat out on the open water for the first time... Learned alot ... Need to make quite a few changes but we manage a bluebill and a buffle head.... It was a blue bird day... No wind... So not too bad

Well boys after tomorrow I have 10 days off... I wish it was a bit colder but I guess I'll continue to beat up the wood ducks... Might even climb a tree.. Stay tuned

Will do Olly.. I'll prolly have her for a while... Unless I win the lottery and upgrade to a Bankes...

First day of vacation yesterday and was disappointed to see all the wood ducks have moved out... Was able to pull a limit if geese and one drake mallard into the slough but that was it...

Went out today and got SKUNKED... first time this year... I'll be bow hunting the rest of the week until we get some good flights of birds...
