This year the routine has changed to due so many people showing up.
Used to be we lined up on one side of the road and parked on the other. Now there are so many rigs that both sides get lined with trucks which takes the road down to one lane. This means at some point the guys who just launched try to go park and can't because there are ten rigs in the road and they ain't backing up no fucking way.
One thing I know about launching is you turn your fucking headlights off where there is a multiple-lane launch. The guy behind you trying to launch cant see a fucking thing with your lights shining upwards. Hell I can't even see the ramp if there's a fucking jeep with it's lights and fog lights all on at once. Funny how the guys in the biggest hurry are the ones who are the ones who take ten minutes to launch a God damned jon boat.
There are two boat launches. One on each side of the highline levee which is a road. Sometimes the road is under water.
There are boat lanes on each side of the levee and the control structures ...you drive a boat thru them.
There is a huge ditch on the east side of the boat launches. Once it gets where you have to park on the wrong side of the bridge..I'm done. The bridge is one lane as well.
So much pressure...so few ducks. This is not sustainable.
