What kind of gear/boats you have available to you? Louisiana has a whole lot of good public land available. As for a destination, the Venice area would be hard for you to beat if you've got the boat to access it......safely. Mississippi River isn't to be taken lightly

You'd need something at least 17-18 foot, at least, to hunt down river out of Venice. Think fog, container ships, extreme currents, oh, did I mention ocean going container ships? But the hunting is a wonderland and lightly pressured compared to more readily accessed public lands. Once your on site, you can camp there for your whole stay.

If you have never dealt with barges at night, be extremely careful. Me and a buddy, both guys that had spent a lot of time on the water, but at that time very little around barges nearly got ran over in the middle of the night. They don't have headlights and they move fast at night because they don't give a damn if they hit something in their way.

As they say, live and learn. But you have to live. We were damn close to not learning. Rattled my buddy so bad we went in for the night even.

There's also some decent stuff to be hunted with a regular boat with an outboard (Biloxi WMA in SE La - very good for grays and teal, some divers, huge area with very light pressure), and mud motors (Pearl River WMA - good bit of pressure on big weekends but it's pretty big so lot of area to hunt, would hit it on weekdays with good weather).

Not sure what you're looking for; what's deemed "good hunting" for some isn't too good for others. If looking to pile up greenheads on bow of the boat......Louisiana public grounds not going to do it for you, in general.

oh ok; well, then yea we can get you fixed up over this way. You just need to iron out how many are coming, logistics of how many boats are coming and what type, and we can get you pointed on WMAs, where to stay, scouting tips, etc. You could come kill some birds for sure. Most common would be gadwall and teal, but could see just about anything else under the sun depending on which area you hit, including some geese.

Sorry I was messin with ya and most likely Rainey Brake would be a clusterfuck.
It's pretty thick in there as you can see. There is a creek that they use like a boat lane. Get outa the creek an yer screwed.
Plus Georgia plates are gunna sort of glow there. They got used to my Illinois ones bcuz there are a couple other Illin that go there. If you go make sure you get a good coating of that red arkansas road mud on the truck and boat and you'll fit in a little better.
