Time: Cut two bundles of Roseau and met a friend on the causeway @ 9:00 a.m., with intentions of hunting the Southside of our causeway (which does not have the mandatory 1:00 p.m. curfew)
Location: John's Bend/West Bank (the windy side........damn Gadwalls preference)
Cloud Cover: Off and on all day
Wind Direction and Velocity: SE light to begin with, but picking up steam all day, and by 2:00 p.m., was pushing 20 mph
Temperature: Warming up after a cold front pushed thru the day before
Moon phase: Beginning to wane after being full on Thursday
Special Notes: Called an old duck hunting buddy that i have not hunted with in 3 years, despite our promise to make at least one hunt each season together. He's a few years older, and on of the very few I look up to when it comes to duck hunting.
Waterfowl Activity: Better than expected
Waterfowl Responsiveness: Great before the wind got too strong
Hunters: Good friend, Lin Cunill, and myself
Guns: SBE and a Turkish O/U (Rick's fave

Malfunctions Nunyon
Dog(s): none
Special Equipment: Flock-a-Flickr - That little bit of movement in the spread continues to turn the trick when hunting the open bays, late season Gadwalls, as most locals are not using, and I damn sure ain't telling

Curses: Wind got too strong, and birds quit working
Kudos: Great hunt with an old friend. We have both lost several close friends over the last couple of years, and have been kidding each other that we'd better get together and make a hunt while we were both still North of the dirt

Birds By Species: 8 Gadwalls, 1 Bluebill
Photo Ops: Took a few, but unsure about a hosting site to add
Lagniappe: Best hunt of the year for both of us
