Ditch Tigers

Well, the term ditch tiger usually refers to feral cats, but I use it for any cat that is not kept inside. Only a few minutes ago when I was driving to one of my wells I see something walking down the road. I sped up and sure enough it was a ditch tiger with a dead duck. I’m guessing that this hen gadwall has a nest somewhere close by. The cat dropped the duck, and escaped into the tall grass. There is a house right there, but mark, my words I will get that cat. I would highly encourage anybody that sees cats alongside the country Roads to take care of it!

On a sidenote, when I was taking the picture of the dead duck, a hen blue wing teal jumped off another nest. Hopefully she makes it as that cat wasn’t too far away hiding.

Most of the belly was already consumed. Guessing it was carrying it back for later or maybe it has kittens somewhere.
