Make the call now!

Postby Olly » Wed Dec 19, 2012 11:28 am

I called mine this morning and will every single morning from now on.

Contact your Representative and make yourself heard! I believe that this time is very serious, when you have the NRA not even speaking up about this and companies like Bush Master being sold and possibly closing it's door. Please don't stand by and do nothing.

Yesterday, even Ted Nugent said he would be for it, if someone could get rid of ALL the guns, not just some. Makes me sick.

Serious talk here guys, I live outside the bubble, no cable, no local channels, listen to satellite music, do not go to news sites on the web, like it this way. Has some kind of ban been formally introduced already?

Can't formally introduce it until Congress meets in January. Several senators have openly stated they are introducing one and Obama has said he supports it.

Sent mine off:

Mr. Kline,

I am curious what your stance is on all of the propositions popping up on the restrictions of firearms.

I am deeply concerned about this issue and hope that you, as a representative of Minnesota which has a long standing tradition of hunting and enjoying the outdoors, also feel that restricting law abiding citizens is not acceptable.

I can look at things logically. "Assault rifles" are not a necessity for your average citizen. The problem with trying to restrict them however, is when you try to define these guns in words. The descriptions end up bleeding into your "sporting" firearms, which would then be affected by any restrictions imposed.

It's been said many times before, but it remains as true today as ever. Laws and restrictions don't stop people who plan on breaking the law. It only punishes the law abiding citizens. Please, represent the people of Minnesota and if/when any proposed firearm restriction bills are brought up, vote against restricting them.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Goldie Voter

Goldie good job! You should also call, the secretary that answered for me told me they count every call heavier than emails. How it works is she answers the phones and emails then tallies them for the congressmen a lets him know what issues are important to look at. She also told me that they had been receiving a lot of calls about a weapons ban, when I told her I'd be calling everyday she said "you aren't the only one".

So honest question. How bad is everyone expecting this whole deal to get? I mean what can they realistically pass? All I have been hearing is just a bunch of speculation and people freaking out. Is there a reason to freak out? AWB and mag restrictions or worse? Just curious what you're all thinking.

They want to pass legislation to ban high capacity magazines and the firearms that can carry then. Well, what is on the bottom side of your shotgun (a magazine) and how many short shells can you fit in there without a plug? What about your deer rifle? How many bullets can that lever action hold? They want to ban long guns with pistol grips. Does your turkey gun have a pistol grip on it?

This is how it will affect you. By using words geared towards assault rifles (which they will flaunt to the public to seem innocent), that end up blanketing many different firearms rendering them illegal.

Called today. My rep is a long standing supporter of the 2nd, so it was more of an encouragement call, but I voiced my opinion none the less....
