I am not going to doubt you, so far you have been right on the mark.

What really surprised me was how thin maple syrup is over corn syrup.

He's happy as can be with a 12 pack of Taco Bell, but he doesn't like pure maple syrup and homemade pancakes. It's not natural.

Aside from donuts, I'm not a huge fan of sweet stuff. If someone made a pancake flavored raised donut, I'd probably love it.

Pretty sure I don't have the trees or weather for it. Almost all our maples are silver maples.

Silver maples work, just less sugar content so a little more boiling.

It takes extreme patience and diligence. We have or had ten or twelve sugar maple trees in the yard when I was in high school.
My mom decided to have me tap them all. She bought all the stuff and tried making syrup on her electric kitchen stove.
Made the house smell good but she kept scorching it when the pan got dry. Lucky she didn't burn the house down.
We ended up with a pitifully small amount that took me a lot of labor to get.
I was the guy who had to check the dang trees two or three times a day for the time when it freezes at night and thaws during the days. I do like maple syrup and have some now but it's not from Michigan. Some place in Canada.

Log Cabin makes the best syrup.
Buckwheat is that kid with the funny hair and dark complexion on Lil Rascals.

Please put a Gadsen flag in the label. You are going to need to make a Commonwealth Rain Tax Stamp for it as well.

Jarbo and I are thinking about holding an annual "Free State Maple Syrup tasting contest" here pretty quick. We think we would be the best judges because we have not been biased towards real maple syrup, and we both like to eat.
Coming up in May: TomKat and Jarbo test NY State VS MI syrup. Two syrups enter, only one comes out a winnter.

Maybe you could get an entry from you for next years contest?

We will be washing the maple down with many beers. As of right now, NY has to have a slight edge, it was sent in a man sized container, not stolen from some midgets!

I put my prime MI maple on some good vanilla ice cream last night. It was the bomb!!!

But we will need to get Goodkarmarising in one the judging, it needs to be a 3 judge panel. Plus, I think he likes to eat, too :D
