please tell me your not using any treated wood on this boatMornin Beef wrote:Hey Jehler thanks for the thread boss. Mighty proper. Proper as hell!!!! Been taking a break since my last meltdown. Sometimes things get too crazy and I think back to some advice my mother gave me when I was very little. She said "Tiny Beef, If you ever find yourself in a situation where you're in a large group of people and half of them are cops just be yourself and play it cool. If the cops turn on you; you run your little britches off." She is a sweetheart and damn fine gardener. She has two yard cats that keep her company as she weeds her beds. Scratchy and sniffy are decent. Last weekend I rebuilt the transom on my hobby 16' Starcraft Marlin. Cut the new one out with a sawzall cuz I'm me. I gutted the whole thing and will not be replacing the floor (rhino line that bitch). It was originally a side console too by the way. When I bought this property there was tin roof siding stockpiled. I will be using that to make permanent side walls. Got 130$ into this so far. I also want to holler out to my boys; Rebs, Hammertime, ABizzy, Fluffy Nuffy, Billy Bad Apple, ATrizzle, Fowled play, Banksy, MudLock, The Flights, Guns, NV bros, Rozzo, Cast n Blast, Ollie, P-zizzle, Duplex, and snowgoosin1. You all play your cards tight hosses. I got to run.

Wow awesome avatar AB.
In as helpful and nice a manner as possible...I suggest re-cutting that piece. Use the first piece as a pattern and make marks on it showing where, and how much bigger to make it. Good "joinery" requires tight fits for friction to take place. Friction is what hold everything together. The nails, screws, or glue just pin it in place.

I've had to do a piece over before and I think you should do-over. It's GOTTA hold or you will die.
P.S. How did you get it in? Those braces are welded? I don't see how a perfectly fitting piece would get installed. Maybe I need to look at better pictures. (trying to help, really) I get it...the corners aren't welded. I know a guy who works at a boat factory. You need his help.
