Postby CountryRN » Mon Jul 29, 2013 2:47 pm

I don't have another 12 hour shift for a couple days and need someting to sip on. Tired of the same old Bud, BL, and Coors. Whats your suggestions for a relaxing pour this evening.

Sounds like a few good suggestions. Wish we had a few good microbrews but when living in the armpit of NC, there isn't much luck of that.

While out West last month I got hooked on Moose Drool and Polygamy Porter. Both were right good. That Polygamy had to be the best of the two. They got a great tag line too - "Why have just one".

its from "Bell's Brewing Co."
spelled Oberon
overated, but drinkable. The original was better, then they changed it to be more "public friendly"

Distribution might be limited though, i havnt seen it anywhere around MI. Our DFH beers here are limited to big bottles and "x" minute IPA's.

Widmer Hefe Weizen with a lemon wedge.

@TK, if you're going to suggest a german beer, like Pilsner Urquell, at least suggest a german beer the Germans would drink, like Wachsteiner.

Widmer makes tasty beer, but no matter whos hefe, I can only drink them cold. When it starts warming up the banana/clove gets to be too much for my taste.

I'm sure that he will have no difficulty finding a hobo that smells of skunk. Good places to check would be 1) on the train tracks and 2) under a bridge

There is a guy that lives under the bridge on the other side of town, but I think I will pass on drinking hobo piss.
We got a nice list. thinking that this taste test of brew will have to be stretched out over the next few breaks.

Ah, that sucks. I love hoppy beers, but those timed IPAs are a bit much, even for me.
