That's neat. All I've got out my backdoor is a pigeon loft.

That's pretty cool!
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

It has crossed my mind. They have been the yard just about every day, since they were not much bigger than a quail.
There were 21 poults, but we're down to 19 now.

I am truly blessed to be able to enjoy this place.
Every weekend is a vacation. Sure, there's a good deal of upkeep, but it's worth it.

These are some I haven't seen before today. It was 3 adult hens with only 6 young. I'd love to see these 9 link up with the other 21 and make one big flock.

And this was the view from the same kitchen window at dusk. They were about 15 yards from me.

Looks like a paradise. I miss living in an area that is green with trees. On this picture below where the sun is setting is my house. I'm also pretty fortunate that my hunting grounds are only about 1/4 mile from my backyard.

That is a tiny picture, but I like what I can see!

One of my longer range dream projects is to make it so I can controlled flood about 5 acres of the timber behind the dam of my pond. Much work and much cost involved, but it would be a sweet spot for puddlers.

This mowed at 3-1/2", but past about 30 yards on either side of the house I clip it at 5 inches high.
There's very little real grass out there. Most of it's indigenous junk, which when mowed evenly looks quite good, but it dies when the frost hits it.
I'm going to be working on all of that this Fall.
