I'm sure I'll be asking. It's mesh-backed, so shouldn't be much of an issue. I've done lots of regular ceramic or travertine mesh-backed, but never glass. And it'll cover plenty. The hardibacker and tile (by my calculation, anyway) will go past the cut off part by 1/4", not counting the mastic, so I have plenty of wiggle room.

1/4 round or bullnose trim? Or is it wall to wall? Try not to cut the glass if you can. Cut glass looks like crap. When you grout, give it time to set up, grout with glass takes forever to set up. Wipe it too early and you will just keep pulling grout out of the joints.

Neither. The sink is inset into a little sort of "alcove", half as deep as the vanity top. It's really just going to be a glorified backsplash, only it'll go from wall to wall (width of the sink) and from the sink up to the bottom of the medicine cabinet. She's just insisting that it'll look "dumb" because it's going to land on the sink. I told her that's the way it needed to be, hence why I am cutting off the damn backsplash already on the damn sink, because it would look damn stupid if the damn mosaic landed on that, so why on God's green earth would I want to cut it off, and then come up with some damn tile to replace it?

Haha! That's why I haven't done any tile work on my own house! I just tell my wife she can't afford me.

I'm actually going to have to do a shower at home here pretty soon. I have a fiberglass shower that is just starting to fail. Unfortunately, my wife has seen the work I have done in other houses, I can't wait to see what she comes up with for our house.

I'm avoiding the shower. She wants accents and such, and I don't like that stuff. I prefer a "cleaner", simpler look. I caved on the glass mosaic for the sink. but only because its a small area, and it would've looked stupid painted or with a plain tile, anyway. Speaking of tile, I had about 200 sf of 16" travertine left over from a job that she gave away because "she didn't like the way it looked". You know how it would've looked? Fucking excellent on the floor, that's how it would have looked.

That high-dollar sealer works pretty slick (the stuff that's about $70 a quart) Last spring, I was in a house that we did with it about 6 years ago, in the kitchen no less, and it looked great. I will say, I have no clue how often they've been re-sealing with the stuff, but we told them to follow the directions religiously. I was amazed at how water just beaded up with it.

Fishing today was absolutely nuts. 25mph winds and 2-3' waves, I'm pretty sure I got a good idea of what diver hunting is like. I'm still dizzy from rocking back and forth for 7 hours.

Where were you fishing? Driving across NoDak today the car was all over the place. Watching semis coming at you leaning like a pimp was a little interesting
