I've never understood this...
Stock up on ammo for an "apocolips" to the point you can't have enough mags to hold them or carry.
I know a guy who claims to have 75,000+ 5.56 rounds.

If you have to shoot that many people, then you won't have enough time.

Unless you have a bunker, what is the point?

Why wouldn't I have enough time? Would you have a problem with me having 356,000 rounds? Cuomo, is that you?

Eric you only need seven anyways.

I reload and ran out of the last 1000 so I figured I better at least get some on order because I didn't know how long it would take to get them. Took less than a month.
I have powder and a quite a few primers so i should be good for awhile.

Buy in bulk to save some cash. These bullets have gone up 3 cents a piece since the last time I bought them which adds up when you're buying them 1500 at a time.

Wish I could find some .22 ammo now.

I don't think it's a optic. Just a red dot.

Sent from my phone.

Looks like a Vortex Strikefire to me. Pretty nice little red dot that is night vision capable foe under $200.

Maybe. But it still looks awkward. Like it's waiting to break off, or get seriously out of whack the first time you bump it.

X2. What's wrong with regular iron sights? I never have like red dots. Every time I use one the damn battery fails when I need it.

If you buy a quality one that won't happen. I've left mine on for weeks at a time before, still bright as ever.

My red dot is up like that too. It works well.

Exactly. Iron sights on my old M16s were plenty out to 300 meters.

I don't see the point in spending that much money on a scope without lines and doesn't magnify. It does the same thing as iron sights but eliminates the lining up factor. So I guess they are idiot proof.

That fraction of a second saved can be the difference between life and death on a battle field.

True. But how many people buying ARs now with red dots will every see a battle field? Or have a situation in which that saved time is needed?

If you have a tactical rail on your AR15 a red dot can be much cheaper than just a rear sight attachment and you still need front sight. The pair is like $180 to $200, from what I have seen.

Don't get me wrong I would love to have flip up iron sights on my gun, but my red dot was $50 and I have shot it out to 200 yard with no problems.

Home defense
The "end"
Comp shooting

Hopefully none (ignoring comp), but if you buy an AR15 with no thought of the three listed above wouldn't a Rem 700 have done a better job anyways? (Barring of course shooting for fun, which was already covered)

I would get a Browning BAR if I had that much money to spend. Far more practical from my standpoint. But that varies from person to person.

Kind of like, how many people need a $150 competition duck call when a $50 call will do the job.
