Yes I believe he went back to the owner. I thought there was going to be a auction for it but haven't heard anything about it.

Welcome back!

Not even close. When Charlie was around, he'd bark up a storm. He was a damn loud dog.

Well technically it wasn't the coast guard till 1915. It was known as the Revenue Marine and the Revenue Cutter Service from 1790 until 1915.

Just like the Army celebrates its birth year of 1775 but really they were the Continental Army then. Same organization just a different name.

All I'm saying is the picture was correct because the coast guard has only been around since 1915.

By that logic Domino's has only been around since 2014 since they just changed their name from "Domino's Pizza" to just "Domino's".

I get what you're saying but no one looks at it that way. The Army, Navy, Marines, & Coast Guard all celebrate their inception on days when they were named something different.

Army says 1775 but didn't become the United States Army until 1783
Navy says 1775 but didn't become the United States Navy until 1797
Marines say 1775 but it wasn't until 1798 that they became the United States Marine Corps
Coast Guard 1790 but didn't get named that until 1915.

So none of those 4 follows the way you look at it.

The Army, Navy, Marines have been around since 1775 and the Coast Guard since 1790...

Why do puddle pirates get so defensive. Let's see here the army changed from continental army to the U.S. Army. Still army. Navy changed to us navy. Still navy. Same with the marines. The coast guard became what it is today by adding the life rescue portion to it in 1915.

Actually if you want to get technical the Army, Navy, & Marines all disbanded until they were brought back with their current names 20 plus years later.

Also Alexander Hamilton setup the Revenue cutter service and not only tasked it with collecting taxes but also giving aid to any vessels in American waters as well as charting the coast line with more detail. So that life saving part has been at the Coast Guard's core mission for 225 years.

And it's not defensive it's that there are so many misunderstandings from people who think they know anything about the CG but really don't. So I'm just trying to set you straight. If you think the Coast Guard didn't exist until 1915 in more than name you have to say the same thing about the Army, Navy, & Marines.

I had money to buy another 1911 but I've wanted a 238/mustang. It's the Nitron model which isn't my favorite but for 400 I can live with it.

Easier to carry than what I was gonna buy for damn sure. I carried a 938 in Colorado last summer and forgot I had it with me.
